Seeing the round holes in this iceberg made me curious if there are birds that would build nests inside the ice. To my surprise, a quick google search showed that indeed, in 2008 scientists working on Peru’s Quelccaya Glacier discovered Diuca finch – now also known as the glacier bird.
If you are curious, you can google "Glacier birds raise families at 5,500m" and see the unique footage of the said birds captured for the first time ever by the BBC crew.
