Shah-i-Zinda (meaning "A Living King") is a necropolis in the north-eastern part of Samarkand. Shah-i-Zinda complex was formed over nine (from 11th till 19th) centuries and now includes more than twenty buildings. It is popular among locals who can spend hours exploring various mausoleums and mosques with its unique architecture and decorations.
