Found only on the island of Borneo, Proboscis Monkeys - also known as the long-nosed monkey - are fascinating creatures.

To see them in the wild we traveled to Bako National park, the oldest National Park in Sarawak province, Borneo.

Spoiler alert - we found the monkeys! Contrary to the general stereotype of monkeys as social creatures, proboscis monkeys demonstrate a more complex behavior. While living in groups is common, you may also find lone males or all-male groups among them.

Proboscis monkey sits among lush green foliage in a dense forest, displaying a calm demeanor. Dappled light filters through the trees.

Unlike other primates, they do not have territories, allowing multiple groups to share the same area.

Bako National park is home to not only proboscis monkeys but also long-tailed macaques, wild boars and over a hundred species of birds. It's famous for its interesting plant life, secluded beaches, panoramic rocky shoreline, bizarre rock formations and extensive network of trekking trails.

The video below is less than 2 minutes. It shows some of the main highlights of the park.
